Hewitt athletics develop more than physical strength and dexterity. Students
learn lifelong lessons such as teamwork, sportsmanship, joy and defeat, all in
the name of sports. Through these activities, we encourage each individual to
find the best within herself and to be satisfied with the results regardless
of the outcome. Winning and losing are valuable lessons, but physical activity,
health, wellness and resiliency are even more important.
Competitive sports provide an outlet for those athletes who want to test their
skills against challenging opponents from Spence, Chapin, Marymount, Trinity,
Sacred Heart, Saint Ann's, Brearley, Nightingale-Bamford and Fieldston. And
non-competitive sports are available for those who choose to take on their
greatest challenger: themselves.
