Hewitt Summer Camp: A Co-Ed Day Camp for Rising K-8th Graders

A Co-Ed Day Camp in New York City

Hewitt's co-ed day camp is open to campers entering kindergarten through 8th grade. Camp runs from June 17 to July 19, 2024 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Campers can sign up for all five weeks of camp, or select the number of sessions that fit with their summer schedule.
 

This year, we are also excited to offer new half-day volleyball, soccer, and basketball camps to rising 5th through 8th graders! Our sports camps run from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and are led by Hewitt’s own P.E. and athletics coaches. 

Summer Camp Program Highlights

Our weeklong programs include active play, arts and crafts, recess in Central Park, and delicious and nutritious snacks and lunch. Campers entering K-4th grade also play tennis each week.   • Summer Stars (Rising K-4th graders)
    The week kicks off with an all-day field trip, followed by hands-on activities including cooking, science, engineering, crafting, and writing projects. Campers will also enjoy organized games and sports and movement in Central Park. 
  • Summer Voyagers (Rising K-4th graders)
    Summer Voyagers will spend the week exploring the food, climate, sports, clothing, architecture, and animals of different cultures around the world. Campers will also enjoy tennis lessons, organized games and sports, and movement in Central Park. 
  • Summer STEM Adventures (Rising K-4th graders)
    Join us for a week of STEM adventures! Campers will engage in a series of hands-on activities as they explore outer space and the ocean depths. Campers will also enjoy tennis lessons, organized games and sports, and movement in Central Park.
  • NYC Exploration (Rising 3rd-6th graders) 
    Each day, campers will take a field trip to a different awesome place in New York including the Queens County Farm, Governors Island, the Museum of Broadway, Wave Hill, and Central Park.
  • Hawks Volleyball, Soccer or Basketball Camp (Rising 5th-8th graders)
    Led by Hewitt’s own coaches, our immersive sports camps are perfect for aspiring volleyball, soccer, or basketball players. Athletes will focus on enhancing their fundamental skills and honing their individual abilities in a supportive and motivating environment.
  • The Eras Camp (Rising 5th-8th graders)
    Swifties unite! Campers will learn dance routines and songs from each of Taylor Swift’s different musical eras, make their own costumes and friendship bracelets, and shine on stage as they perform a mini-concert showcasing all of their hard work. 
  • Explorations in Creative Writing (Rising 5th-8th graders)
    Each day, campers will explore different literary genres — including poetry, fiction, drama, memoir, and journalism — through reading and writing activities. At the end of the week, participants will share their favorite pieces of writing aloud with the group.
