The success of The the Hewitt School is directly related to the generous financial contributions we receive from our parents, alumnae, past parents and grandparents. They provide the necessary assistance to meet annual operating costs, as well as future investments, allowing us to stay competitive as a school while providing the best possible education to each student.
The Annual Fund supports the wonderful teachers and enriching programs which your daughter benefits from each day. The Annual Fund, a short-term campaign, provides Hewitt with the flexible resources to address the immediate and ongoing needs throughout the school such as: financial aid, technology resources, sports equipment, library supplies, and most importantly, faculty enrichment. With your annual giving support, Hewitt can continue to meet these growing needs. Tuition alone does not cover the costs of running the school each year. The Annual Fund enables the school to bridge the gap between the t the total amount collected in tuition and the amount it costs to run the school each year. The gap at Hewitt is approximately $2,700 per child.
In June 2005, the Hewitt School completed its first capital campaign in over 15 years. The campaign which has come to be known as Hewitt on the Move: The Capital Fund was a major fundraising initiative with a goal of $11 million. In June of 2005, we not only reached our goal but we actually exceeded it: the gifts and pledges totaled $11.184 million. Contributions made to the capital campaign are reserved for long-term goals and investments. These funds are allocated to projects identified by the Board of Trustees as worthy investments for the future of Hewitt. The Hewitt School’s operating budget does not address the need for increased endowment or facility improvements, thus creating the need for this campaign fund.
With the conclusion close of the campaign, our primary focus for the 2005-2006 fiscal year is to raise as close to $1 million for this year’s in Annual Fund. With our committed focus on annual giving, we also hope to also raise our levels of participation among parents and alumnae. We invite you to help us make a difference.
