Celebrating the College Choices of the Class of 2020
Tara Christie Kinsey

Each May, Hewitt seniors engage in a tradition called “Commitment Day,” in which every senior shares where she will be attending college in the fall. Because the Class of 2020 could not gather in person for this tradition, last week our seniors created a “Virtual Commitment Day” video, in which seniors shared where they will be attending college and one thing from Hewitt they will be taking with them. True to form, some of our seniors seized the opportunity to be lighthearted in their responses (“I will take with me all of my Hewitt apparel”), while some were heartfelt (“I will take with me all of the strong relationships I have built with teachers and with friends”), and still others were quite earnest (“I will take with me my Hewitt empowerment”).

We are pleased to share that our seniors have chosen to enroll in the colleges and universities listed below. Because the pandemic is likely to affect college this fall, a number of our seniors — like seniors across the country — are actively thinking through their plans for next year.

We are so proud of our seniors for how hard they have worked, how much they have achieved, and how prepared they are to effect positive change on their college campuses, in the workforce, and in society. Please join us in congratulating the members of the Class of 2020 not only for all they have accomplished, but also for the promise they hold in shaping our world for the better.
