The Hewitt School is proud to partner with Bernstein Private Wealth Management (Bernstein) to provide the next generation of girls and young women with financial literacy. To launch this relationship, The Hewitt School and Bernstein will host a “Women, Wealth, Philanthropy, and Purpose-Driven Investment” event on April 7, 2025.
The importance of financial literacy and education is critical among our next generation of women leaders, whose financial influence is projected to grow substantially in the coming years. This collaboration marks a pivotal step forward in addressing the need for financial education among young women to foster a new generation of leaders who are informed, responsible, and prepared to confidently navigate their wealth and financial futures.
“Financial literacy is crucial to girls’ and women’s success, and this strategic educational collaboration aligns perfectly with Hewitt’s mission to inspire girls and young women to become game changers and ethical leaders who forge an equitable, sustainable, and joyous future,” said Dr. Tara Christie Kinsey, head of The Hewitt School. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Bernstein, a leader in wealth management, to foster a new generation of women leaders who are well prepared to make informed and impactful financial decisions.”
According to a report by McKinsey & Company, by 2030, American women are expected to control the lion’s share of $30 trillion in financial assets owned by baby boomers. This shift is fueled by a notable 30% increase in married women making household financial decisions compared to just five years ago. Additionally, younger women are becoming more engaged, with a remarkable 70% of female millennials reporting that they now take the reins for all financial decisions, according to recent studies by Boston Consulting Group.
Led by industry leaders and educators, the upcoming “Women, Wealth, Philanthropy, and Purpose-Driven Investment” event will bring together middle and high school students and their families to explore the critical intersections of financial literacy, philanthropy, responsible investing, and the vital role women play in shaping the financial landscape and making impactful changes in their communities.
The Hewitt School, an independent K-12 girls’ school, is deeply committed to advancing the education and empowerment of girls and young women. Central to this mission is the establishment of Hewitt’s Center for Girls’ Research and Leadership, a differentiating initiative that positions The Hewitt School as a leader in the field of educational research focused on girls’ learning and development. By bridging the gaps between K-12 education, higher education, and industry, the Center aims to create a vibrant conversation that is currently missing in our society, ensuring that Hewitt graduates are uniquely equipped for success in their personal and professional lives.
