Welcome Hewitt's Next Director of Advancement, Ed Griffin!

We are delighted to announce that Ed Griffin has joined The Hewitt School as our next director of advancement. After a highly competitive search process that concluded with full-day interviews with faculty, staff, parents, and trustees, and a thorough review of feedback submitted by the community and the search committee, we are thrilled to have recruited a deeply knowledgeable advancement director with extensive experience in independent schools. 

Ed joins us from Trinity School, where he spent the last six years as director of development. Prior to that, he was the school’s director of alumni relations from 2009-2020. While at Trinity, Ed helped raise over $120 million, including more than $35 million from alums, for the school’s most recent capital campaign. He also pioneered new initiatives in alumni engagement and secured significant endowment support for financial aid and programmatic opportunities. Most recently, Ed led the school’s Senior Class Gift effort, securing over $5 million in annual and endowment support since 2020, and Giving Days efforts, which this past year raised $2.4 million over five days. In addition, Ed served as advisor to Trinity's upper school Shakespeare Club and spent 10 years as a coach in the after-school program. He brings a deep understanding of New York City’s vibrant independent school culture and the varied worlds, passions, and interests that make our community so strong and so dedicated to one another, to our girls, and to our mission.

After spending time with William this July to ensure a smooth and effective transition, Ed is excited to be joining Hewitt’s fantastic advancement team. He looks forward to partnering with our exceptional parents and guardians, faculty and staff, and alumnae to support Hewitt’s fundraising efforts.
