It is our honor to announce that Hewitt Alumna Samantha Apfel '11 will deliver The Hewitt School’s 2024 Commencement address. Ms. Apfel was selected by senior class leaders to be Commencement speaker, and we are thrilled to welcome her back to Hewitt this June.
A member of the Hewitt Class of 2011 and an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Apfel is a film and television producer. She currently serves as vice president of production for Delirio Films, a boutique production company specializing in premium documentaries. She most recently co-produced the documentary feature Will & Harper, starring Will Ferrell, which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and was bought by Netflix in one of the largest sales in festival history. Previously, Ms. Apfel worked in development at YouTube Originals. She lives in Los Angeles with her wife and their dog, Frankie.
The theme for the Class of 2024’s Commencement ceremony is “Legacy.” In deciding upon a theme, seniors reflected on what Hewitt has taught them, as well as the legacy they hope to leave behind as they prepare to graduate and move on to college. During her Commencement remarks, Ms. Apfel will speak to this theme and the impact she and her classmates made during their own time at Hewitt.
We look forward to welcoming Ms. Apfel back to Hewitt!
