Hewitt Students Travel to Spain and France
Hewitt News

In alignment with our mission to forge an equitable, sustainable, and joyous future, Hewitt’s travel program invites students to extend their learning beyond the walls of their classrooms, explore unique and interesting places on our planet, and continue developing into responsible global citizens.

This summer, students participated in an immersive trip to Madrid and San Sebastián in Spain and Bordeaux and Paris in France. Throughout their travels, upper schoolers toured parks, markets, and museums; explored local communities and cultures; enjoyed food-tastings and cooking classes; and delighted in the natural landscapes and historical architecture of these uniquely beautiful cities.

Lilly A. ’26 noted that her time in Spain complemented her Extended Inquiry (EI) studies in a meaningful way. “I researched the Surrealist movement for my 11th grade EI project, and at the Museo Reina Sofia I was able to see original work I couldn’t access online. Everything I had read about in my research — like films by Salvador Dalí and André Breton’s Manifesto of Surrealism — was right there for me to experience in person. I stayed in the galleries for hours just soaking it in. I was so happy!”
