Amy Tarr P’25 and Tracey Wallace ’73 Honored with Wendy Liff Flynn Award

The Board of Trustees held their annual meeting on June 3, 2025, and the program closed with the head of school portrait unveiling and a moving presentation of the Wendy Liff Flynn Award for Distinguished Service and Dedication to The Hewitt School to Former Trustee and Parent Amy Tarr P’25 and Tracey Wallace ’73, president of the Alumnae Council. 

This award is named in honor of Wendy Liff Flynn P’05, who was chair of Hewitt’s Board of Trustees from 2001-2013. Established by the Board of Trustees, this award is presented annually to individuals who, like Wendy, demonstrate exemplary commitment and dedication to our students and our community.

Past recipients include Valerie Mogul P’12 P’15; Joan Lonergan, former head of school; Laura Greene Meltzer P’21; Jo-Anne Williams Bilotti P’23; Julia Lewis P’21 P’26; Kate Tylis P’24; and Candace Rabinowitz P’25 P’27 P’31.

The award was presented by outgoing Head of School Dr. Tara Christie Kinsey and Wendy Liff Flynn P’05. 

Amy Tarr P’25
Since 2017, Amy Tarr has been a dedicated member of the Hewitt community as a parent and a longstanding volunteer. Over the years, she has taken on multiple roles, including serving as a class representative and committee chair. During the 2020-2021 school year, she became a member of the Parents’ Association Board, where she held the position of vice president in 2021-2022 and served as PA president for two subsequent years. 

In 2024-2025, Amy stepped into the role of Annual Fund co-chair and she continues to contribute as a non-board advisor to the Advancement Committee. Throughout her daughter’s time at Hewitt, Amy has generously volunteered her time in many large and small ways. She has supported various school productions, showcasing her commitment to enriching the Hewitt experience for students, and even took the lead on maintaining our garden bed for a time! 

Tracey Wallace ’73
Tracey Wallace joined Hewitt as a seventh grader in 1968. Since then, she has remained an active and influential member of the Hewitt community.

Tracey joined the Hewitt Alumnae Council in 2020 and served on Hewitt’s Anti-Racism Task Force, demonstrating her commitment to fostering an inclusive school environment. Over the past three years, she has held the position of Alumnae Council president, leading initiatives that create engaging and diverse programming for alumnae while strengthening the relationship between alumnae and current students. Additionally, her efforts as a member of the Alumnae Fundraising Committee have strengthened cultivation and stewardship efforts among alumnae. Tracey’s leadership and dedication make her a remarkable role model for alumnae and students alike and an advocate for the Hewitt community.
