GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS
Cultivating Citizens of the World
Hewitt’s Venturer Program offers opportunities for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade to engage in cultural exchanges, language immersion, community service, and global travel. Through The Venturer Program, Hewitt girls develop into independent thinkers who are capable of making meaningful contributions locally and globally.

The Venturer Program
Grades K-6: Foundations of Global Citizenship
- Cultural Exploration and Service Learning: As they study the rich history of local neighborhoods and engage with community issues such as food insecurity and affordable housing, students learn about civic responsibility and empathy.
- Language Learning: Initiatives like pen pal exchanges with schools in French and Spanish-speaking countries promote international friendships and discussions on literature and leadership.
Grades 7-12: Immersive International Experience
- World Travel: Through immersive travel programs connected to curriculum, students enhance their understanding of global issues while applying their classroom knowledge to real-world contexts.
- Global Learning: Projects focused on cultural competence, leadership, language learning, and community well-being reinforce critical thinking and teamwork skills and empower students to drive positive change locally and globally.
By combining a rigorous academic curriculum with immersive learning experiences beyond our campus, The Venturer Program cultivates informed, compassionate, and empathetic leaders who understand their place in an interconnected world and feel a sense of responsibility to engage with that world thoughtfully and ethically.Alia Carponter-WalkerDirector of Institutional Equity and Global Partnerships

Johannesburg, South Africa
At the African Leadership Academy, students learn about social entrepreneurship and design thinking and engage in leadership training with students from around the globe. Students then travel to the township of Diepsloot with nonprofit organization Journey for Change to engage in service projects that tackle local challenges and drive positive change in South Africa.

Oxford, England
The Global Tutorial Programme at the University of Oxford equips students with essential skills for higher education and the workplace. Through workshops, small group seminars, and site visits, students integrate knowledge from various disciplines as they examine real-world challenges.

Andes Highlands and Cusco, Peru
In Peru, students participate in a program centered on sustainability and service learning. Working closely with the indigenous community in the Andes, particularly through the Q’ewar Project, students learn traditional construction methods and contribute to community initiatives.
