How to Apply

Application Requirements

Kindergarten applicants must turn five on or before October 1, 2027.

• A submitted online application
• Parent/guardian conversation: All applicant parents/guardians will have an opportunity to speak with a member of the Hewitt admissions team. 
• The ISAAGNY confidential school report: This report is to be filled out by your daughter’s current program and is accessible through our admissions portal after you submit the online application.
• Kindergarten group assessment: All kindergarten applicants will be seen in a group setting. These group meetings are held in person at our lower school. 
• Campus tours will be offered at various times throughout fall for applicant families. Please note that kindergarten families who toured Hewitt in the spring will not need to complete a tour as part of their fall application process.
• Applicants must demonstrate mastery of the prior years’ skills and content.

• Student participation in a personalized assessment
• Hewitt does not require applicants to grades 1-4 to take standardized tests as part of the application process.  
• Applicants must demonstrate mastery of the prior years’ skills and content.

• All supplementary materials submitted including the ISAAGNY common student essays, school records, and teacher evaluation forms
• Hewitt requires standardized tests as part of the application process. Families applying for grades 5 through 8 should submit current results from either the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). To ensure The Hewitt School receives your test results, please use SSAT code 38332 or ISEE code 333815.    
• Applicants must demonstrate mastery of the prior years’ skills and content.
