The Value of Teamwork

Beginning in grade 5, Hewitt girls may join competitive athletic teams. The middle school program emphasizes the challenge and joy of learning a new sport and the importance of teamwork. Girls learn lessons on the field and the court about risk-taking, failure, and triumph, and they come to value the contributions of the whole team rather than just the individual.

Our middle school athletes learn the responsibility of making a commitment to a team and gain greater skill in time management and organization. They embrace the program’s focus on three key elements: the value of teamwork, the essence of sportswomanship, and the models of good leadership.
