Varsity Outdoor Track and Field Head Coach
Cross country coach Walter Rodriguez received his B.A. in economics from Hunter College, where he ran varsity cross country and both indoor and outdoor track and field. A talented athlete, Coach Rodriguez was named the 2016 CUNY MVP in all three sports, and he continues to run competitively with the Brooklyn Track Club. Rodriguez enjoys helping Hewitt's athletes work as a cohesive team while also tapping into their individual potential.
Varsity Outdoor Track and Field Assistant Coach
A lifelong runner, Thomas Williams brings expertise and enthusiasm to his role coaching Hewitt's cross country and track and field teams. In addition to working with Hewitt's dedicated athletes, Coach Williams also helps runners with marathon training through Jackrabbit Sports and volunteers with Back on My Feet, a charity that provides support to homeless populations. Williams earned his B.S. in sports management and exercise science from SUNY Fredonia, where he was a member of both the cross country and track and field teams. His running accomplishments include competing in the NCAAs for cross country and qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
